A new outdoor group based at Allerthorpe Wood, Pocklington, is thriving despite the Covid-19 restrictions.

Dan Sissons and Rob Yates, founders of the Woodland Tykes group, have more than 20 years experience between them working in early years and childcare.

They have a passion for outdoor education, using the benefits of a natural environment to teach key life skills and spark children’s curiosity.

Dan said: “With the benefit of creating shelters, we are able to run sessions throughout the year regardless of season, meaning parents do have peace of mind when booking places.

“There are two different sessions currently available: Saturday sessions aimed at children aged 1-5 years, and weekday sessions for children aged birth to 2.5 years.”
