James Cousins, 17, owner of So Yummy Sweet Treats, accrued the amount via donations through sweet sales and a GoFundMe page.

James managed to raise the total in just two weeks and after discussions with Heather Leach Davidson from the pantry, it was decided to buy bags of sweets and chocolate.

A spokesman said: “In total more than 520 bags and bars were donated to the pantry to share across the pantry sites at Pocklington, Market Weighton and Holme on Spalding Moor. These will be distributed, giving so many families an extra treat.”
