TICKETS have all but sold out for this year’s Shiptonthorpe pantomime.

A cast drawn from Shiptonthorpe and surrounding villages will be performing a classic tale with a twist.

Snow White and the Disco Dwarfettes is the brainchild of villagers Alan Heaven, head of drama at Pocklington School, and Diane Heywood.

Claude Mole, who is acting in the pantomime and is a Pocklington Provincial ward councillor, said: “It brings all the village together and we have a full house for four performances.

“It is huge fun, as all these things are. We’re all looking forward to it.

It is Shiptonthorpe’s third pantomime in as many years and will be staged at Shiptonthorpe Village Hall, on Station Road, from today, 19 January, to Saturday at 6pm, complemented by a sold-out Saturday matinee at 2pm.

Tickets have all been sold for Friday’s and Saturday’s performances. There are still a few tickets left for today’s performance which can be bought from Janet Miller, a member of the village hall committee, for £5.
