Doo-wop and RnB stars The Drifters are coming to the York Barbican this September, as part of their new show The Optimum Tour.
Tickets for the Sunday 14th September show are on sale now, priced £25.00.
Originally created in 1953 as a backing group for Clyde McPhatter, the band, who have featured over 60 different vocalists since their creation, quickly came into their own, with hit songs such as Under The Boardwalk, Saturday Night At The Movies, Up On The Roof, Kissin In The Back Row, Come On Over To My Place, More Than A Number In My Little Red Book, The One, and Think Twice.
This brand new tour will feature the current line up of Pierre Herelle, Michael Williams, Ryan King and Carlton Powell. Following on from the success of the 60th Anniversary Diamond Dynasty World Tour, The Drifters will produce a fast moving, exhilarating show bringing the optimum of their own historical legacy along with events, people and culture over the decades of the dynasty, along with brand new recordings released late 2013.
