Talented townsfolk showcased their skills and wowed the audience at Pocklington’s fourth annual talent show.

This year’s Pocklington’s Got Talent competition saw 13 local acts perform to an almost full auditorium at Pocklington Arts Centre, including three judges - community musician Sam Dunkley, Arts Centre manager Janet Farmer and head of music at Pocklington School Martin Kettlewell.

The winner of the under-18s category was 12-year-old vocalist Grace McPhillips. Singer and guitarist Richard Preece claimed first prize in the over-18s category, with both winners receiving £100 prize money.

The show raised almost £800 for the mayor’s two chosen charities - Pocklington Play Area Group and Pocklington Relief in Need.

Full story in this Thursday’s Pocklington Post (8 May).
