2014 has been a great year so far for a local indie rock band.
The Patron Saints have just released their first EP, ‘Dead End Dreams’, and one of the band’s new tracks, ‘Break You’, was played on BBC Radio York recently and received a positive review.
Lead singer of the band Jess Kelly, of Dorrington Close, Pocklington, formed the five-piece band at York College, where she is studying music.
The band, who have performed many gigs in and around the York area since they formed, are delighted to have received airtime on a local radio station.
Former Woldgate College pupil Jess said: “They [BBC Radio York] played our first song and commented on it. They gave us a good review.
“It was really surreal hearing our song on the radio. It was a really great feeling.”
The Patron Saints play a mixture of their own songs and covers.
Other members of the band include Declan Gough, Connor Dale, James Brown and Sam Pheby-McGarvey.
