Yapham CC is starting its preparations for the forthcoming season with coaching and net sessions on Tuesday evenings from 8pm to 9pm at Burnholme Community College Sports Hall.
The sessions will commence on 28 February for six weeks until 3 April.
This season, Yapham will be running two Saturday teams, the first XI in York Senior League and the second XI competing in the York Vale League, plus a Foss Evening League team on Wednesday evenings and several friendlies on Sundays.
The club’s under-17 squad will also be training with the seniors - Yapham started its U17 team three seasons ago in the East Yorkshire Junior Cricket League, with the aim to help players make the transition from junior to senior cricket, and several players are already establishing themselves in the senior sides. The club is keen to welcome new players of any age or experience, at both senior and U17 levels.
Yapham CC juniors winter coaching programme resumes after half term: under-15, under-13 and under-11 hard ball squads will be training on Friday evenings from 8pm to 9pm at Burnholme Community College Sports Hall, from 2 March until 30 March; and under-11 Incrediball and under-nine coaching will be on Wednesdays from 5.45pm to 6.45pm at Woldgate College Sports Hall, from 29 February until 28 March.
This year, the club will be running teams at U17, U15, U13, U11 and U9 levels: children of all abilities and experience are welcome.
With an increasing number of very keen girls already, including some now playing in East Yorkshire Girls teams - and a Yapham Ladies team including several mums - we are keen to encourage girls, as well as boys, to try cricket.
