Pock Panthers chase the game

Pocklington Panthers....15

Scunthorpe..................30

The Panthers gave a good account of themselves against league leaders Scunthorpe, but were always chasing the game after the visitors took an early lead. Scunthorpe were a well-organised side that went two tries up before the Panthers got into their stride and pulled a try back when returning No 8 Marcus Britland made a charge and off loaded for fly half Dan Elliott to touchdown.

Scunthorpe struck again but the Panthers were in contention with newcomers Zac Pollard and Steve Butterfield and wing Ben Lewis showing some nice touches, and good combination between Elliott and Jack Walters saw Josh Britton scorch over for a second try to make it 19-10 at the break.

Scunthorpe continued to have the edge with the Panthers working hard to hit back, but they were restricted to one second half score as they counter attacked from deep, kicking ahead and then putting together a flurry of passes that saw Britton cross for another try.
