Matt said: “I am delighted to lead my home club this year as we have some exciting plans for the forthcoming season.”

Also elected at the AGM for another season were the second and third team captains Adam Thomas and Steve Relf.

Chairman Simon Hill said: “It is great to have Matt and Alex leading the first team for 2012 and we are confident that together they will strengthen the team and encourage new players to join us.

“This new partnership enables us to move the club forward at this exciting time for us.

“We are looking forward to a busy 2012 with a full set of junior teams from under-9 to under-15, three senior Saturday league teams and a midweek evening team.

“We intend to complete the next stage of our new changing rooms before next season and we’ve also invested in improving the square and covers for next season. We look forward to seeing lots of junior players at nets in the new year.”
