After a long winter, the Pocklington Stewart Bowling Club has opened again, looking forward to the summer months.

Presidents Terry Rodgers and Sue Douthwaite sent down the first woods of the season.

The club will be playing in eleven leagues, which cover an area from the west of York right through to the coast of East Yorkshire.

As well as the competitions, we also have sessions on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons for social bowling, practice and if required coaching.

New members are always welcome, and the two afternoon sessions start from 1.30pm. Please come along and try your hand at a new sport. If you are interested in joining, please contact 01759 306680.

The new season began with a Pairs away match at Melton, on Tuesday 29 April, and on Wednesday 30 April, the four teams we have competing in the Driffield Vets started their campaign.

Bowls is quite competitive, but with a great deal of camaraderie, and our members will all be looking forward to meeting old adversaries.
