Pock U12s step up

Pocklington Under-12s...................................................14

Ripon Under-12s...............................................................7

To complete the home matches this season, Ripon were the guests to Percy Road.

Pocklington were fielding a few new players, James Clark, Macaulay Wright, Sam Stringer and Josh Bytheway, who all provided additional support throughout the game.

Sam Meggitt, George Grosvenor and Tom Bulmer continued in chasing every ball, tackling the players and gaining ground with ball in hand. Defensively, Pocklington played their best, possibly the best they have played all season. But all this was not enough to keep Ripon from crossing the line first. Meggitt went over for the first try from an excellent period of pressure and a scissor movement with James Wraith. James Harrison converted the points.

The second and third quarters continued as the first, but neither team could cross the line.

In the final quarter, both teams stepped up their game with Jack Armstrong leading the Pock team forward to get the second try with Grosvenor going over after an excellent kick forward by Wraith, with Harrison converting the points again.

Man of the match went to Grosvenor, with best efforts trophy going to Harrison.
