Marie Curie run

The Hornsea 1/3 marathon was staged at Great Hadfield to raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care and took place in crisp, sunny, spring weather.

Two hundred and fifty runners raced over an undulating course through scenic country side. Kevin Norman was the first Pocklington Runner completing the race in 57:51 (fifth in category), Jill Dowson continued her rich vein of form with a PB run of 64:09 (third in category), Paul Sheridan had a PB run of 65:40, just ahead of Matthew Sawyer in 65:68 and Faye Jessop had an excellent result of 83:26.

Runners of all abilities and experience are welcome to join Pocklington Runners. We meet for training runs on Wednesday evenings at the rugby club at 6.30pm. Feel free to call in and join us for a run; ask for Jill Dowson or Marcus Bourne who will introduce you to those looking to run the same distance and pace as you.
