Jake Sissons from Hull FC trampoline squad retains the Yorkshire Trampoline Championship title for a third year running for his club.
Kandy Sissons, the club’s head coach, was thrilled with the results from all the athletes on the day.
“This is evidence of a lot of hard work, and that was defiantly displayed. It is fantastic when you watch young athletes pull off really well-executed performances, it’s like watching poetry in motion.
“This year, so far, has been incredibly busy on the competition scene for our trampoline competitors, with 85 percent of the club’s athletes passing their regional grades moving them up to the next higher level, plus Jake Sissons hitting the British National finals in July and then taking home a bronze medal in the Cardiff international trampoline event in October, representing the Yorkshire squad.”
Megan Ellerker pushed up the ranks performing her new 6.8 tariff routine that she also performed at the Cardiff International, representing Hull FC trampoline squad.
Following in Jake’s footsteps in the Yorkshire Championships, and placing second in the under-15 male category, was George Hamby, who is looking to be another of the club’s national athletes over the next coming year.
The under-nine male individual, Elliott Wilson, just missed the Yorkshire title but placed in second, taking the silver medal in his category. Elliott is eight years old and already has the highest tariff in his category; the club is very excited about Elliott as he is the real deal with amazing talent.
Rising to stardom in the under-11 female category is Charlotte Cuffling who took the bronze medal with a very nice routine. Not far behind her were Hannah Stubley in fourth place and Erin Hansen in fifth place, both girls performing beautiful routines.
Team mates Charlotte Burn, Isobel Nicholson and Holly Forrester also performed credible routines, and it was really good to see how much they have developed.
The under-13 girls category saw some excellent competitors but, yet again, Hull FC trampoline squad were on the podium, Georgia Iredale winning the bronze medal with a very clean routine. Also in this category, Georgia was part of a team with Gabriella Cameron, Beth Gray and Millie Goode who won the silver medal for the team event. Individually the girls had high tariff routines and performed well.
Congratulations to Millie Goode and Abby Forrester who, in this category, had the highest tariff routines and both performed extremely well.
Esme Littlewood came in sixth place with her new routine which was a personal best for Esme, congratulations.
Abbie Pickering, Emily Burn, Rhianna Smith, Megan Smales and Katie Worrall also had some very nice style going on in their routines which helped contribute to the B team placing in sixth place. All the girls in this category had new routines, whereby they all reached their set targets, well done girls.
Megan Ellerker and A-J Mullarkey are both really making massive headway in this large category of very talented athletes, Megan placing sixth and A-J in seventh, which is an outstanding result for both girls performing high tariff routines with good execution. Georgina Cooper also contributed to help the girls take the silver medal in the team event but also performed well in her individuals, placing in the top 16 out of 29 competitors.
Maddie Iredale is Hull FC’s only under-17 athlete at the moment and she was very pleased with herself, placing ninth with her new routine.
Giselle Wright, who has very stiff competition in the over-17 category, placed ninth with her best score to date of 51.1. Giselle has made the transition from world-class aerobic gymnastics, Congratulations Giselle on a fantastic effort.
A big thank you to all our club coaches, judges, welfare officers and volunteers on the day for all the help and support - Pat Ellerker, Giselle Wright, Sarah Cooper, Lindsey Cameron, Andrew Sissons, Joanne Burn, Jackie Wright, Mel Iredale, and not forgetting the parents.
