Director of golf at The KP, Ashley Pheasant, has appointed Oliver Cross as his new head of instruction.

A fully qualified PGA professional, Oliver arrives from Brough Golf Club where he has been working as a trainee assistant for six years after turning pro at the age of 18 when winning an amateur event at La Manga in Spain. While working at Brough, Oliver achieved a foundation degree in Professional Golf Studies from the University Of Birmingham.

Oliver has had some success on the course as well, finishing in the top 10 of the Yorkshire PGA Order of Merit for assistant trainees for all three years of his training programme. Other highlights include a second place finish in The PGA North Region Assistants Championship at Ilkley Golf Club and a third in the PGA Assistant Challenge at Rockliffe Hall.

Oliver has worked closely with schools over the last three years and his appointment as head of instruction at KP gives him the chance to create a feeder system from the schools to The KP whereby the course can offer children somewhere to continue their golf development outside of school. Adult coaching will not be forgotten either as Oliver really enjoys helping adults of any ability to improve their golf game and has instigated special coaching events, such as ladies group swing clinics.

Ashley appointed Oliver with the intention of developing The KP into one of the best facilities for developing junior and adult golf in the area. Investment has continued with a new £15k practice facility.
