Stamford Bridge Primary School girls under 11 seven-a-side football team have been awarded the title of Humberside FA Primary Schools Girls seven-a-side football champions.
This came about after the Stamford Bridge side won a girls under-11 seven-a-side football tournament in Hull.
The girls successfully progressed through earlier rounds at Market Weighton in the initial Wolds & Market Weighton Primary schools round and then the East Riding finals at South Hunsley.
They then travelled to Hull and performed brilliantly in order to seal their victory, which gives them the regional title.
The team has just received confirmation from the FA that they will be travelling to Nottingham University in March to take part in the next round.
This is the penultimate round of this national competition, meaning it is an extremely prestigious occasion which could lead to even greater things and a potential national title if they manage to get through to the final round and play as well as they have done so far.
Everyone at Stamford Bridge Primary School is extremely proud of the girls’ achievements on the football pitch and wishes them well in the next round. It would be great to see them lift the trophy.
