The Red Lion sponsored second string played host to Stillington, a side which the first XI has encountered in the past.
This was also a rather one-sided contest but, unfortunately for the Park, it was the visitors who dominated.
The Park’s scorecard showed only two batsmen with double figures to their name. Opener Ed Smith held the innings together as he lost six partners on his way to a defiant 49.
Senior pro Chris Barlow secured a dozen, but the bowling prowess of Mike Kay and Wayne Linton resulted in an early visit to the tea tables, the Park dismissed for 85.
With little to bowl at, skipper Tom Williamson kept shuffling his bowlers around but an opening partnership of 35 and a second wicket stand of 35 effectively sealed the contest for the visitors. Ciaran Brooke had the honour of trapping Milburn lbw and the skipper had Simpson caught behind. But it was a bad day at the office as Stillington secured a comfortable eight- wicket victory.
Thanks to The Griffin for matchball sponsorship.
