THE rain decimated the final round of matches in the Foss Evening league although it avoided Pocklington to allow the relegation battle to be resolved on the field. Yapham claimed their fifth win in six games to secure first division cricket next season and relegate Pocklington who won only one match in the second half of the season.
Yapham cracked up 119-3 in their 16 overs with Aussie big hitter Shannon Bowen making an unbeaten 84. In reply Pocklington could only reach 93-8 to lose by 26 runs, Yapham captain Jon Flint taking 3-27 and Martin Pearson 3-28. Only Geoff Woodward made a significant score, hitting 36.

All the other matches were rained off and the point thus earned by Barmby Moor at champions Woodhouse Grange saved Barmby from relegation.

Londesborough, who lost by just one run to Division Two champions Melbourne (see match report) missed out on second place to The Retreat.
