Pocklington U15s A team began the Junior 7s tournament with a comfortable win against Hessle, 24 points to 0 with tries by Adam Collinson (2), Luke Holman and Matt Johnson.
Pock A then took on Selby who were always going to be one of the strongest teams in this competition. Pock were off to a bright start, Joe Knight setting up Luke to run in the try, well converted by Joe. Luke eased the pressure with a further try. Se
lby fought back in the second half with an early try, matched by Adam. Selby took the game to a nail-biting close, with a further try to leave the scores 19 points to 10.

Pock took on Beverley for a more comfortable win by 33-0. Pock tries came from Luke (3), with Adam adding two more tries to the total, well converted by Joe Knight.

In the semi-final Goole scored a very early try, matched by Adam. Luke then put Pock in the lead with an excellent jinking run, followed by a further try, taking a chip over the defence with style. Goole threatened but Pock’s defence held out for a 26 points to 5 win.

The final saw Pock in a re-match with Selby. Adam scored Pock’s first try but Selby replied with a run-away try. Some good passing play between Joe Knight and Luke led to a Josh White try and the score was 12-7 in Pock’s favour. But with a minute to go, Selby’s left wing went over for a try and the conversion sealed the game.

Pock B easily beat Beverley 38-7 with tries by Tim Darmody (3), Pat Dawson (2) and Nick Sparks but lost 10-24 to Goole and were outclassed by Percy Park 32-0.
