Pocklington Town Under 14s Girls 10
Fulford Under 14?s Girls 1

In their last game of the season Pocklington needed a twenty four clear goal margin in order to win the league, and they were helped by Fulford starting with three players less than the home side for five minutes a
nd two less until half time - this was due to five of the team heading west to Poppleton!

The girls set about their target well with Zoe Hancox and girl of the game Brogan Simms both completing first half hat-tricks, while Katie Jackson and Mel Turner both added a goal each to take an eight goal lead into half time.

This lead could easily have been doubled, as everyone in the team were piling forward. They quite simply got in each other’s way at times, with numerous shots either being well saved or being scrambled to safety.

The opposition quite rightly hung the bag out at half time to wait for their team mates, and it was Fulford who found the net first after the restart.

Pocklington fired themselves back up after a sloppy ten minutes which was probably brought about by the fact they knew they couldn’t score another fifteen goals against a full strength opposition, and it wasn’t long before Faye Coldwell added the ninth. Katie Jackson then added her second and the team’s tenth to round off the scoring.

A big thank you to all parents and especially the players who have done well to finish second in the league in only their second season playing competitive football. Also to Steve Coldwell who has arranged the team’s new sponsorship with Smith and Nephew.
