Letter: Drama sessions created a buzz

Drama sessions are a great success.
Drama sessions are a great success.

What a wonderful day! Janet and James, of Pocklington Arts Centre, arranged a series of three workshops by the Goole theatre group, Engine Room.

One was specifically for Wolds Wonders, our drama group for adults with learning difficulties.

The workshop took place in the auditorium of the arts centre and consisted of three main themes, music, shadow puppets and art. Part of our group played Indonesian Gamelan, while the rest drew images influenced by the music.

In the afternoon one part of our group again played Indonesian Gamelan whilst the rest made shadow puppets, again influenced by the music.

All of our group members thoroughly enjoyed the day, which through good planning engaged everyone. There was a real buzz amongst all of our members during the whole of the day.

One of the professional care staff did say how much her clients had enjoyed the day.

Thank you very much to Janet and James for organising it and to Engine Room for providing such an entertaining and enjoyable day.

Our delayed production of ‘Follow Your Dreams’ will be staged in the main auditorium of the Arts Centre on Wednesday 25 May at 1.15pm.

New group members are always welcome and we have various volunteering opportunities. If you are interested please contact me on 01759 303225.
