Viking and Saxon warriors clashed once again in Stamford Bridge during the village’s fifth annual Battle Show at the weekend, held at the Cricket Pavilion.

Despite the promise of some half decent weather, it was a damp, drizzly day on Saturday and dryer but blustery and overcast on the Sunday. However, this did not dampen the spirits of the Saxon and Viking re-enactors, nor indeed of the many hundreds of visitors who came to see the warriors in armed combat and also at the ever growing ‘living history’ encampment.
