Excitement is building ahead of the inaugural Tour de Yorkshire, and The Life Centre in Market Weighton is offering spectators a great vantage point to watch the spectacle as it passes through the town.

The riders will be passing directly outside the facility, on High Street, as they go through the town on 2 May at about 12.18pm and people can watch the race from The Life Centre’s upstairs windows.

The centre will be opened for the public to come into a cool and relaxing place to watch the riders go by. It will be providing refreshments including tea, coffee and juice, cakes, savoury flans and hot dogs will be available on sale in aid of the centre’s community activities.

The main street will be closed at about 11am, so the centre will be opened from 10am.

The centre, above the Asda store, has something to offer people of all ages and abilities. For more information, call 01430 879927 or email office@the-lifecentreorg.uk.

The Tour de Yorkshire will be held for the first time from 1-3 May.
