Over the next few weeks, I’m going to explore the collection of Major Percy Stewart which is housed in the Stewart Museum here at Burnby Hall Gardens.

The museum comprises a fascinating collection of souvenirs and curiosities, none more so than the superb African artefacts which Major Stewart obtained whilst on safari in Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia) between 1910 and 1911, and as gifts.
