Pupils from St Mary and St Joseph Primary School in Pocklington have designed and painted a mural in the newly extended children’s play area at Burnby Hall Gardens.

The work, involving creating a design and then transposing this on to a large section of the fencing, has been underway for a number of months, with the children completing the actual painting this month. A Gardens spokesperson said: “The children have done a fantastic job designing and painting the mural, which depicts the lakes in the Gardens, along with the popular coy carp that live in them. It is really great that local school children have designed and created these wonderful murals which will enhance the children’s playground for years to come. They have done a superb job and it is greatly appreciated by everyone at the Gardens.”
