Barmby Feast 2015 saw the best ever turn out for many years.

Last Friday’s Victorian fun run, supported by West Wolds Radio and local guitar duo Simon and Al, was won by Henry Kay who shared his ‘yard of sweets’ with all his friends.

Saturday’s main event nearly reached the 1,000 visitor mark, helped along by the sunshine and loyal Facebook followers whose numbers tripled this year. Winds were quite high on the field but this did not change any plans.

Wicstun Vets had record entries for the pet shows, the zumba demonstration got the crowds dancing and the gun dog display showed everyone ‘how it’s done’. There was Caribbean food and cocktails on offer together with ice cones, ice cream and burgers.

Children’s races were a great success and the tug-of-war tournament was won by The Pilgrims. Gareth Brown provided some live country and western music in the evening and the day was topped off with an amazing fireworks display from sponsor and local fireworks retailer Ardent. Sue Frow, chairperson of the Feast Committee, said: “It’s been such a great weekend. We want to thank all our contributors who helped guarantee another fabulous Barmby Feast!”
