The Pocklington church bells will not be calling the congregation to prayer for the next five to six weeks while a major refurbishment is carried out to some of the components.

However, the clock chimes will still sound every quarter of an hour as usual during the day. The Pocklington bellringers began removing the clappers, sliders and pulleys on 10 March prior to taking them to Oxfordshire for refurbishment.
