Chris Clubley, who was the driving force in setting up the new Rotary Club of Weighton Wolds in 2014, has now handed over the reins to another Chris – Chris Stephenson.

In his presidential address, Chris Stephenson promised to continue to grow this already successful Rotary Club and to ensure it maintained its emphasis on serving the local community, while at the same time assisting those less fortunate further afield and around the world.

Like the Pocklington Post, this new Rotary Club wasn’t afraid to challenge the accepted way of doing things and Chris intends to contribute regularly to this newspaper, to make sure we all know what Rotary is doing in Market Weighton and beyond.

Just before his election as president, Chris, along with fellow Rotarians Bob Long, Mike Denham and John Ducker, completed the Yorkshire Cancer Research fun run in York on Fathers’ Day, to both help raise awareness of Prostate Cancer and funds to help fight it.
