Beer drinkers are expected to flock to a popular beer and music festival in Pocklington this Saturday (10 October).

The 12th annual Pocktoberfest will be held in a marquee at Pocklington Rugby Club, on Percy Road. There will be 24 real ales, four continental lagers and a range of ciders for revellers to enjoy.

Party band Pink Cadillac are headlining the event, with support during the day from local stars Daisy Allen and Joe Thompson.

Organised by Pocklington and Market Weighton Round Table, the festival will be raising funds for local charities.

A spokesperson for Pocklington and Market Weighton Round Table said: “We’re really excited now, the event is just a few days away and everything is coming together nicely. As ever we are extremely grateful to all the event sponsors for their support, and to Brass Castle Brewery and Pivovar of York for their tremendous help in sourcing the wonderful selection of real ales, lagers and ciders we have on sale. And remember, all money raised goes to charity, nobody makes a bean from organising the event.”

Linden Homes are sponsoring the marquee this year, which will be situated next to Pocklington Rugby Club’s clubhouse. The festival will take place from 12noon-10pm.

Tickets are on sale at RM English Pet Supplies, on Market Street, Pocklington, for £10, or can be bought on the day for £12. Tickets include a festival glass, a colour festival programme and your first drink.
