Barmby Moor Pink Ladies Breeze Ladies cycling group turned Pocklington red on Saturday when 13 santas and one elf cycled through the town at the end of a 16 mile tootle on their annual Christmas-themed ride.

The ride finished in Barmby Moor with mulled wine and mince pies at the home of cycle leader and Breeze champion Val French. Val and Pocklington champion Deborah Nott have led nearly 300 rides between them over the last two years. Breeze is an initiative by British Cycling to get more women back on their bikes and Barmby Moor Pink Ladies are leading the way in this area. Breeze area coordinator Val is keen to see more women get back on their bikes.

She said: “You don’t need to worry about where to go as we lead you and cycle at a pace to suit the slowest rider. They are fun social rides with coffee and cake stops en route and is a fantastic way to keep fit and healthy whilst enjoying our beautiful countryside, and it’s free. So ladies dust down those bikes and cone and join us.”
