A popular golf course and tourist detsination near Pocklington has launched its new gym and fitness centre with the help of a boxing champion.

The KP Club, in Kilnwick Percy, opened the doors of its new health and fitness studio ‘The Box’ on Sunday (10 May).

The Box has state-of-the-art equipment and a unique outdoor Nordic relaxation area which includes two sauna huts, hot tub, swim spa, and spa pool, all overlooking the Yorkshire Wolds.

It was officially opened at the weekend by boxer Tommy Coyle.

One of The KP’s Directors Simon Dixon said: “We are thrilled and excited about our new fitness suite and Nordic relaxation area, which we believe is a one-off in the area.

“We are already firmly established as a top tourist destination, attracting visitors from several bordering counties, as well as from our own doorstep. But this adds to our appeal enormously, as it will give guests and members the chance to really unwind from the stresses of modern life.

“With so much emphasis on healthy living, we wanted to make sure we gave our visitors the whole package, so they can now golf, walk miles on our nature trail, or work-out with our state-of-the-art equipment.

“The addition of the gym and studio will mean we will be offering more comprehensive facilities and we also hope the local community will also come and make use of the gym and the range of fitness classes we will be running.”
