AN ASPIRING young actress is celebrating after landing an acting role on the popular BBC school drama Waterloo Road.
Imogen Heaven, of Bishop Wilton, will appear as an extra in at least one episode of the programme.
Recently, the 15-year-old travelled to Manchester for the filming of an episode which will be broadcast in October.
The opportunity to appear on the programme came about after Imogen spotted an advert on an acting agency’s website.
She said: “I found an acting agency on the internet. They were advertising for extras for Waterloo Road.
“I applied and waited for a bit and they got back to me a couple of weeks later.
“I was really excited.”
Imogen, who attends Pocklington School, hopes she will get more opportunities to appear on the programme.
She said: “My ambition is to get a bigger role.
“My agent will get in touch the day before filming to let me know.”
The teenager says drama is something she loves to do and is aiming for a career as an actress.
“I really want to be an actor when I am older. I’ve wanted to do acting since I was a little kid,” she said.
“Drama is my favourite lesson at school.”
On 17 and 18 August, Imogen will be attending the Breeze on Tour event in Leeds where she will stand on stage and introduce the acts taking part in a talent competition called Breeze has Talent.
