Work on improving Pocklington’s ancient trackway begins

A conservation group from the area has set to work improving a popular Pocklington footpath as part of its development into a local heritage trail.

The Green Gym, run by The Conservation Volunteers, have been working once a week on several local sites in recent months, including at Melbourne, Bubwith and Burnby Hall Gardens.

The first steps in improving the footpath along the top of Chapel Hill to Kilnwick Percy saw the group cutting back undergrowth using billhooks and other traditional tools.
