Woman, 88, sustains life threatening injuries in A63 crash

An 88-year-old woman remains in a critical condition after she sustained serious, life threatening injuries in a crash on the A63 yesterday.

Police are now appealing for witnesses of the road traffic collision which happened at 9.40am yesterday (Sunday October 23) on the westbound carriageway of the A63 between South Cave and North Cave.

The collision involving a red Hyundai i20 car and a red Massey Ferguson tractor and trailer.

The driver of the Hyundai was uninjured whilst the front seat passenger and the driver of the tractor sustained minor injuries.

The 88-year-old woman was a rear seat passenger in the Hyundai at the time of the collision. She remains in Hull Royal Infirmary at this time in a critical condition.

The carriageway was closed for several hours as emergency services attended and recovery of the vehicles was completed.
