Pocklington’s Woldhaven Day Centre dance team took first place in a Strictly Come Dancing-style competition at Floral Hall, in Hornsea.

Team members Peter Rand and Holly Bradley were the doubles winners while Nathan Edwards won the individual event.

The competition saw teams from seven day centres perform dances in five different categories, including group and duet.

The event, hailed by organisers as a fantastic success, was judged by three representatives from day services transport – Angela Hazell, Don Macleod, and Ron Stevens.

Councillor Richard Harrap, East Riding of Yorkshire Council portfolio holder for adult and carer services said: “Competitions like this give everyone who attends our day services a real opportunity to shine.”
