A Pocklington man with a talent for wine making is delighted to have picked up several awards at the prestigious Yorkshire federation of Wine and Beer Makers ceremony in Scarborough earlier this month.

John Barber, 74, who recently received a community award from the Mayor of Pocklington, is thrilled to have scoop five awards overall including the best in show award with his red sweet wine.

This year’s 45th awards, saw 946 beers and wines entered in 70 different categories, but John’s five first place awards represents a real coup.
