This year’s Driffield Steam and Vintage Rally takes place on August 8 and 9 and the Pocklington Post is pleased to once again offer readers the chance to win one of five pairs of tickets for the event.
Held at the Showground, this will be the 26th rally organised by the East Riding Engine Club.
After torrential rain forced an early end to proceedings in 2014, organisers are this year hopeful that the weather will be kinder so that visitors can enjoy both days to the full and help to swell the funds donated to local charities.
With more than 1000 wide ranging exhibits the rally should offer something for everyone whatever their age or interests.
As well as the displays of large steam engines and their miniature companions, other very popular exhibits include vintage tractors, motorbikes, cars, and classic commercial and military vehicles.
For those seeking something different there is always the model exhibition, the craft hall, or the large market.
For many, the highlight of the weekend is the road run when many of the exhibits parade from the Showground .
Last year, the traditional street collection during the parade raised over £3,000 for Yorkshire Cancer Research.
Admission to the rally for adults is £10 with accompanied children (u16) free. Unaccompanied children pay £5, and senior citizens £8.
However, for the chance to win two tickets, simply answer the following question: Who organises the Driffield Steam and Vintage Rally?
Answers to be submitted by noon on Friday July 31.
