Top quality comedy is heading to Elvington and the Pocklington Post is giving away five pairs of tickets to readers for the upcoming Elvington Comedy Evening.
Andrew Owen, from Elvington, now runs regular comedy evenings at the village hall where you can see acts usually associated with much bigger and prestigious venues, such as The Comedy Store in London or The Hyena Lounge in York.
He said: “We simply wanted to organise a top night out for local residents and we found we could afford to put on the same acts that are regularly found on the bill at top notch comedy clubs.”
The Elvington Comedy Evening takes place every two months and the next event is on 20 September, when funnymen Eddy Brimson, who has appeared in hit television comedies such as Absolutely Fabulous and the Thin Blue Line, and Steve Harris, who has supported Peter Kay, Lee Evans and Johnny Vegas, will be performing. They will be joined by Nicky Wilkinson and MC Rob Riley.
Tickets are available in advance at £10 each from www.wegottickets.com, Elvington Village Stores or by calling 07967 473533. A licensed bar will be available on the night. Over 18s only.
