A SHOCKED family from Market Weighton have told how they narrowly escaped being hit by falling rubble when their balcony roof collapsed while on holiday.
Jon and Wendy Cantrell, both 38, of Lysander Drive, were hoping for a fun-filled two-week family vacation when they recently took their two children - Tom, 8, and Emma, 5 - to the Bouganvilla Park Aparthotel in Sa Coma, Majorca for the second time. But instead, it turned out to be one of the most stressful and traumatic experiences of their lives.
On only the second day of their vacation, their excitement quickly diminished when the balcony roof of their second floor apartment came tumbling down at mid-morning, with debris falling on the ground below as well as on the balcony.
