Have your say

There is an end to everything including life here on earth. The unknown and big questions are when the end will come for each of us and where as an individual you will spend eternity?

The writer of the Book of Ecclesiastes said: “There is a time for everything, and everything on earth has its special season. There is a time to be born and a time to die.”(Ecclesiastes3:1-2).

We need to think about tomorrow particularly, where we will spend eternity as we go about our daily routines.

Life must have a destination and purpose else it becomes meaningless.

Our understanding of our life destination and purpose are what determine our values and what we do with our time.

Again the wise man had this to say about eternity: “What do people really get for all their hard work? I have seen the burden God has placed on us all. Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time.

“He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.”(Ecclesiastes3:9-11)

The Bible suggests there are two ultimate eternal destinations – heaven or hell.

We all have a choice of which of these two destinations, we want to spend our eternity.

The description given by the Good Book paints a very dark and disturbing picture about hell that none of us should ever wish to go there while a beautiful and glorious picture of radiance and brilliance is painted about heaven. Its great street is made of gold as pure as transparent glass. A place where there are no tears, pain or suffering and no sin can enter either (Revelation21).

The good news my friends is that we can all enter heaven, if we consciously choose to surrender our lives and follow Jesus Christ now.

Finally, I hope you all take the decision to choose heaven instead of hell as you consider these important questions and prepare for the unexpected and inevitable – death!

If you would like to hear more about this, I invite you to the coming special Gospel Outreach from Friday 17 to Sunday 19 July at the Life Centre in Market Weighton.

You will hear the powerful life transformation story of Ernie Burton, a man miraculously set free from 22 years of drug addiction.
