UPDATE: Road re-opens after three vehicle crash

Three people were injured, with one person sustaining serious injuries, after a three vehicle crash on the A1079 near Market Weighton.

Humberside Police were called by the ambulance service just before 7.30am reporting a collision on the A1079, Arras Hill.

The crash is believed to have involved three vehicles, including a blue Nissan Qashqai, a black Vauxhall Corsa and a white Ford Transit Tipper.

One male driver was trapped and released by firefighters using two sets of hydraulic cutting gear. He was then transported to Hull Royal Infirmary by air ambulance. A female driver was taken to hospital by road ambualnce.

The road was closed in both directions to clear debris and investigate the incident, but re-opened at about 11.25am.
