A Pocklington-based ukulele band is going from strength to strength.

The Pocklington U3A’s Red Sky Ukulele Band was only formed 18 months old but it is already performing a series of gigs locally.

In the run-up to Christmas the band will be very busy entertaining at local residential homes and at U3A events.

A spokesman for the ukulele band said: “This photo was taken last week at Riverside residential home in Kexby.

“The residents thoroughly enjoyed clapping and singing along to an eclectic range of songs from 1960s America to New Zealand traditional.

“Find out more about the U3A at the regular drop-in coffee morning on first Thursdays of the month at Burnby Hall.”

The U3A has plenty to offer with 77 active interest groups.
