Tributes have been paid to a long-serving teacher at Pocklington’s Woldgate School, who has died aged 89.

Kathlyn Meredith, formerly Kathlyn Oates, was deputy head and head of modern languages during her time at Pocklington’s Woldgate School from its opening in 1958 until 1985.

Mrs Meredith will be remembered as a quality language teacher by former pupils, according to former headmaster John Brown.
