Beverley motorcyclist dies in collision

A Beverley man has died following a motorcycle collision near Thirsk on Sunday.

The man in his 50s, who has yet to be named by the police, was riding the Ducati sport bike and was travelling towards Sutton Bank from Thirsk on the A170 when the collision occurred at Sutton-under-Whitestonecliffe.

It is believed the rider was overtaking a line of other vehicles when he collided with a blue Vauxhall Astra car that was turning right into the Bagby junction.

The man driving the Astra escaped uninjured but was left shocked by the incident.

Witnesses to the incident are being asked to contact North Yorkshire Police.
