The Hearing Dogs for Deaf People charity is opening the doors of its Bielby training centre on Saturday (25 July) for a tour behind the scenes and the opportunity to meet some of its clever dogs.

The national charity is holding the event as part of its search for dog-loving locals to join its volunteering network.

Rebekah Barr, manager at the training centre, said: “We are looking for new volunteers to care for our gorgeous dogs, and we’re really excited to welcome local people to our training centre so that they can learn more.

“Starting at 1pm, we’ll be telling guests all about our work, followed by a VIP tour of the site.

“Volunteering for hearing dogs is an extremely rewarding experience, and all our volunteers are integral to the running of the charity. We’re particularly looking for people who can look after our dogs for 18 weeks at a time.”
