Tickets are still available for the talk on Major Percy Stewart, a Man of his Times’.

The talk by author and historian Jim Ainscough will be delving into the life and adventures of Major Percy Stewart Thursday March 23 at Pocklington Arts Centre.

This is a unique experience to discover more about the Stewarts who created the beautiful Gardens at Burnby Hall in-between travelling the world and exploring new cultures at the height of the British Empire.

A selection of handling objects collected during their world tours, taken from the Burnby Hall Gardens archive, not normally on display, will be available to see.

There will also be an introduction from Rachel Mort, learning and participation officer at Burnby Hall Gardens on the progress of the Heritage Lottery Project at the gardens which includes an update on the de-silting of the lakes, restoration of the rock garden and development of the potting sheds.

The talk will run from 4.30pm to 6pm, tickets can be brought on the door and cost £4.00 with free admission to the garden included.
