A teenager will cycle 300km from Blackpool to Market Weighton to raise funds for two charities close to his heart.
Lloyd Jackson, of Market Weighton, will embark on the huge cycling challenge, which is expected to take three days, on Thursday October 27.
The 300km solo coast-to- coast bike ride will see the 16-year-old ride from Blackpool to Bridlington and then back along to Market Weighton.
Lloyd is raising funds for Breast Cancer UK and Dementia UK.
His 12 months of fundraising is part of his Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award.
He has already taken part in a bungee jump and sat in a bath of beans at Market Weighton Community Day, but this is the most challenging of the fundraisers Lloyd will take on.
Having never cycled further than 25km, Lloyd began training in August.
The Wyke College student has already raised £405 and is hoping to receive more donations in the run-up to his biggest challenge.
Lloyd is also doing a raffle for the event with prizes that have been generously donated by businesses in and around Market Weighton with tickets at £1. The tickets will also be available to purchase after Saturday in Rossini & Damsel’s until Saturday October 29 when the raffle will be drawn.
