A talk about the Parisi, the tribe who occupied East Yorkshire in Roman times, will take place at Pocklington and District Local History Group’s next event on 20 October.
The talk will be given by archaeologist Dr Peter Halkon, who is well known locally for his discovery of the Hasholme boat.
Discoveries, such as the boat, chariot burials and coin hoards have added to our understanding of the Parisi. Dr Halkon has drawn together all this information to write a book with the same title as the talk - ‘The Parisi : Britons and Romans in East Yorkshire’.
The talk will be at Pocklington Arts Centre, starting at 7.30pm. All are welcome and there is an admission charge of £2.
