Youngsters enjoyed some swashbuckling fun at Burnby Hall Gardens in Pocklington last week.
The pirate day was the final in a series of children’s day events to take place at the gardens during the school summer holidays.
Children who attended the event on Wednesday 28 August made pirate accessories, including swords, hooks and hats, and then hunted for buried treasure.
Heather Walkington, who helped organise the pirate day, said: “It was very successful.
“We’ve had a lot of response on Facebook saying people enjoyed it.”
