Pocklington residents are being urged to show their support for local acts who are performing at this year’s Pocklington’s Got Talent competition.

The annual talent show will be held at Pocklington Arts Centre on Monday (25 April) at 7pm. Ten acts will be performing during the event.

They include African drummers, musicians, a comedian and belly dancers. The acts are in two sections, under 16 and 16 and over. There is a £100 prize for the winner of each section.

Tickets costing £5 for adults and £3 for under 16’s are available from the Arts Centre box office which is now fully open after the refurbishment of the upper floor. There will be an opportunity for you to view the first floor which includes a lounge area, a bar and a meeting room with a small cinema.

Pocklington mayor, councillor Martin Ratcliffe, said: “All money raised from the evening will go to my chosen charities for the year. My charities are the uniformed organisations in Pocklington, these are the scouts and guides and their younger groups and Pocklington Canal Society.

“There are plenty of tickets still for sale so come along and support the acts who are giving up their time to perform for you and provide an evening of varied entertainment.”
