STAFF at a Pocklington supermarket are flying high after raising nearly £6,000 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Workers at Sainsbury’s supermarket, on The Balk, have been collecting money in buckets at checkouts for the past year.
One member of staff, Hannah Thorpe, completed a skydive in April this year, which raised over £700.
This, together with the money raised in store, brought their fundraising total to £5,822.
A cheque was recently presented to Bob Smailes of Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Sue Shield, who works at the supermarket, said: “We have an ongoing campaign for a new charity for one year. We did fundraising from May last year to May this year.
“They [Yorkshire Air Ambulance] were overwhelmed with it. They were especially pleased with Hannah for doing the skydive.”
